Did anyone else see this?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
In an astonishingly frank conversation between the two men on the official !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , Ecclestone told Rosberg: “When it comes to F1, I am a huge Lewis Hamilton fan because he is a super promoter of the sport. From a pure business aspect – sorry Nico if I have to say this – you are not so good for my business.”
The German countered: “Wait a minute. That is a hard call,” before Ecclestone came back: “It sounds harder than it is meant. Unfortunately you don’t have the German fans on your side. As the cancellation of the German Grand Prix indicates, Germany is a terrible market for Formula One. On the contrary Lewis is a hero in the UK. The British love

. Sebastian [Vettel] is also not doing much for F1. People hardly recognise him on the street.”

Quite the hot take on the German F1 scene there.
Is .338 Lapua enough? Or is it too big?

But why? They are so unobtrusive and polite. It’s like they are hardly there.

errr... I fail to see why Vettel and Rosberg are ‘bad for business’?

Because they “don’t promote themselves” like Lewis does with the fans.
a.k.a. the British media circle jerk on Lewis and his hanging out with high profile celebs and not just living a largely normal life like Seb and Nico.

I hate Bernie, but what he said is pretty much correct.. From a business standpoint, the Germans are fast, but their GPs have been cancelled and they don’t do as much to make the sport visible..

Maybe the Germans don’t care about him because he’s actually from Monaco? He’s as German as he is Finnish.

It’s not just against the Germans, the Sport is obviously British-biased, the main networks broadcasting the races are British, the majority of the journalists are from there, most of the teams are located in England and most of the tech people on the “foreign” teams are British. Don’t get me wrong, I am not against the U.K. in any way, but it’s obvious that having a British champion is “good” for a British business.
